The Hineni Circle Project

Join the Circle

We are building a company, not casting a show. If you are drawn to new work, ritual theater, and the kind of ensemble that grows slowly and holds together — there may be a place for you here.

Summer Salons & beyond
¡Viva El Pop-Up!

The Hineni Circle Project is forming its company. This is not a single production — it is an ongoing ensemble built around new work, ritual theater, and the kind of collaboration that deepens over time. We begin this summer with Salons and pop-up readings at temples, community spaces, and wherever the work can be held. By fall, we move into full productions.

We are looking for performers, readers, women of wisdom, musicians, technicians, stage managers, set designers, and people who want to be part of something being made for the first time. No particular experience is required — only genuine interest and a willingness to show up.

Because these are new works, there is room for many kinds of contribution. Small stipends may be available where needed. This is community-building work, and it is serious, joyful, and alive.

How to Apply

  • A headshot, or a clear photograph if you do not have one
  • A CV or résumé, if you have one
  • A short letter about your interest — what draws you to this work, and what you would like to do (perform, produce, stage manage, design, play music, work backstage, or something else entirely)
  • Any experience you think relevant — formal or otherwise

Applications by email only. No phone applications will be accepted.

Laurie S. Sherman is currently seeking an assistant to help manage the organizational and operational side of an active and growing body of work. This is not a creative role — it is the role that makes the creative work possible.

Responsibilities

  • Organizing the business side of the work from the ground up

What We Are Looking For

  • Organized, reliable, and self-directed
  • Comfortable with email, scheduling, and basic record-keeping
  • Able to work mostly remotely; access to a car is a plus
